Meet the Superintendent

  • Zena Stenvik Dear CHPS Community,

We move into the 2020-2021 school year with some uncertainty due to global events beyond our control. Though we do not yet know what this school year has in store, the health and safety of our students, staff and family members are top priorities. Whatever this school year brings, we will approach it with each of our core values in mind as we continue to create worlds of opportunity for each and every learner.

I want to start by expressing gratitude to the entire CHPS community. Because of your support in the 2014 operational levy, we were better prepared for the distance learning period last spring due to our commitment to personalized learning and technology innovation. Whether it’s in a classroom or behind a computer screen, CHPS will continue to offer well-rounded education and opportunities to all of our students from early childhood through graduation, to adult education and enrichment programs. CHPS is your community school district. We are proud to provide comprehensive education with a full range of programs and support with core subjects, career and technical education classes, world languages, connections to the natural world, free college level courses and robust arts programming.

Communication and connection between CHPS and families is vital for student success. Parents have many opportunities to engage with their child’s school and communication can be facilitated through a variety of tools including the District website, ParentVue, Seesaw, newsletters, social media and more. We encourage families to stay connected with the schools and the District! Check out the Communication section on the Back-to-School Information page.

While we are in the midst of trying times, the CHPS students, staff, families and community have demonstrated great resilience in our caring communities. Through continued collaboration, mutual respect, listening to one another, hard work, we will thrive during the 2020-2021 school year. From our budding artists to our student athletes, future engineers, and young authors, the Hylanders will no doubt take us to amazing heights.

    Hylanders Have Heart!

    Sincerely,

    Zena Stenvik
